San Kulpa

My intention for 2017 is to try harder when I feel like giving up. I feel like I give up a lot and I can't anymore because it's taking a toll on my life and school. I really need to focus more on doing my homework and stuff so I won't get falcon fouls anymore or have to go in the work room. I've gotten better at this towards the end of 2016 but I really want 2017 to be a strong year for me. I hope I can pull this off and I know I can. I hope 2017 is a good year for me.

Could you imagine living without internet?

     Could you imagine going a day without internet, more so your whole LIFE without internet? Well that's what it's like in China. People have to live their day to day lives without most internet accessible websites in China. Why you may ask? Here's the answer:

     Several (a lot) of popular websites in America are banned in China by their government. This is happening in China , and as of now there is no way of getting around it. Since the internet is banned people having been nicknaming China the "Great Firewall of China." These website bans happened as of September 2015. The Chinese government has banned these websites because of their strict internet censorship laws. Some websites that are banned include Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc.

     Why China? Well the internet censorship laws in China are extreme because of a large amount of laws and administrative regulations. In fact, more than sixty internet regulations have been made by the Chinese government. The system blocks websites and content by stopping IP addresses from being routed through. It is made up of standard firewalls and proxy servers at the internet gateways.

     How does IP blocking work? The reachability to a certain IP address is denied. If the main website is held in a shared hosting server, all websites on the same server will be blocked. Another way that is used to block websites is URL filtering. Basically the system detects certain keywords in the URL to know if it should block the website or not, but most websites are in fact blocked.

     In conclusion a lot of people are impacted by this internet blockage everyday in China, and the government doesn't care. We just need to find ways to fight against them, and maybe they'll start listening.

Favorite quote

my favorite quote is "Life is tough, my darling, but so are you."

To me this quote means that even though life is tough, so are you so you can get through it. I like this quote because I can really relate and connect to it. I can relate to it because I'm always complaining about school and stuff and if I think about this quote I can get through anything. It shows me that if I'm having a bad day, I can get through it because I'm a tough and strong person. This quote is really inspirational overall .

My name comes from Saint Jude. I really like my name and I feel important to have it because Jude was one of the 12 apostles of Jesus, and that's really good.

Election day :(((

My thoughts on the election.. I hate Trump. I cannot be happy with him being president. But it is what it is. I just don't get how he won if Hilary had a lead? But most of all I just wish Obama could still be president. I mean he was literally so nice and perfect! I really hope trump does not do anything stupid during his presidency or I'm moving to Canada.

Am I excited to vote in the next election? YES!!!! I'm definitely going to NOT vote for trump if he runs again. I'm excited to see who runs for president. Maybe we will see Kanye run for president. Maybe we'll see the first woman president. Whatever the case is, I'm sure it'll be better than Trump. Im also excited because I'll be older by then.

One important thing i think is important is that: Will trump do stupid things? What I mean by that is like is he really going to deport people? Is he really going to build a wall? Is he really going to ban gay marriage? I hope to God he does none of these things because that would suck. I mean he is already so bad I didn't think he could get any worse and I hope he doesn't.

BEST DAY EVER

Okay so my best day ever was my birthday (when I turned 13.) This was my best day ever because I had soooooo many people tell me happy birthday and I literally was crying because I was so happy. I had literally like 30 snapchats from like friends (both from here and from around the world!) tell me happy birthday. Okay also I was happy because I bought myself a new phone for my birthday present. When my mom and I got back from the apple store my friends suprised me at my house! What?! I was so shocked  because I had texted them if they could come over for my birthday the day before and they said they were all busy. I later found out that my friends had planned all of this out with my parents. At the end of the day I had so much fun and Ill definitely never forget this day.

Big Mouth and Ugly Girl

The book I just finished is called Big Mouth and Ugly Girl. It's about a girl named Ursula (she calls herself ugly girl,) and about a boy named Matt who gets in major trouble for saying something (not going to spoil what he says.) There is alot of drama in this book with just like Matt trying to deal with the authorities and Ugly Girl having trouble with her personal life and stuff.

Something I learned from this book is not to say anything bad (even if its a joke.) The reason why is that you could get in trouble if someone hears you. You might be thinking, "oh so what if you get in trouble?" Well in Matt's case he got in more trouble then you think 😳. This just goes to show if you say something and someone hears you say it and takes it out of context, you could get in serious trouble.

But on the other hand I do recommend reading this book because its good I guess. It gets kinda boring after all the drama goes away but its fine though. Its also a short book which is good too. I rate this book 7 stars out of 10.

Investigative journalism

Clowns. They're not supposed to be terrifying, then why are people making them seem like that? Several clowns have been spotted in Berwyn by several Heritage Middle School students. They say that they usually come out at night to scare and chase people. The students also say that the clowns hang out at parks, such as Proska park and Janura park. One student even reported to know who some of the clowns are, but this could very well be just talk.

How the clowns manage to not get caught? That's the real question. According to one Heritage middle school student, the police interviewed her about the clowns. Students also say that several of these clowns that are in the Berwyn area have been adding and messaging them on Facebook. These messages are very graphic and violent and are not suitable for anyone to read. Why are these clowns terrorizing people? Well, some people believe it's just a joke, while others believe that the clowns are just a publicity stunt for the upcoming remake of the 1990's film "It." Some people have even been attacking the clowns! That's just nothing but the clown's loss.

Book blog

The title of my book is, I Have Diabetes. Now What? This book is not a fiction book as you can tell. Its a short chapter book talking about diabetes and like what to do if you have it. It also talk about glucose monitors and ways to help your diabetes. In my opinion this was a really good book and I enjoyed it i guess.

So I almost gave up on this book because it was really short and i was debating on wether i should just move on or not. Im glad i finished this book because I learned a lot of new stuff. I learned that diabetes is incurable (yes i did not know this do not call me dumb 😂.) I also learned that Diabetes can be life threatening if you do not treat it properly and if you do not take insulin regularly. I also learned the differences between the two types of diabetes.

I have read a lot of books like this one meaning by the same author. They're all about different topics. I don't know i guess i just read these because they're short books. They're also easy, i mean don't get me wrong these books arent not complicated i mean they use hard words and stuff, but they're easy as in short and to the point.

Favorite childhood memory !!

My favorite childhood memory were hubba bubba squeeze pops. These were basically liquid candy that you squeeze into your mouth. These were so memorable because I remember my grandma ALWAYS used to take me to walgreens when i was young and buy me toys or candy. This particular candy I always used to get and it just reminds me of happiness. Also I remember when my grandma always used to take me to the corner store. She would buy me scratch tickets and ice cream and other stuff. We would always take the bus there and it was fun. Being with my grandma is one of the best childhood memories i have. Also we were still in our old house so I remember that too.

Blogging Tips

One thing i think i could work on is more detail. I think its good to have a fair amount of detail in your blogs because it makes your blogs exciting. How would you like to read a really boring blog? It wouldn't be interesting right? I think its important to keep your blog exciting so people will want to keep reading it. If you just make it boring no one will want to read your blogs.

Another tip is to already plan out what you're going to say before you right the blog. This can help majorly because then when you're writing the blog you wont get stuck in the middle of it not knowing what to say. If you come into it prepared you will know exactly what to type. And plus being prepared is always nice anyways.

Character Analysis

What i learned about Johnny is that he really looks up to Dally and he just wants to please the gang. When he died Ponyboy was so sad because he loved Johnny alot. Johnny did not really change in my opinion but i can say he is a hero for saving those kids in the church. What i liked about Johnny was that he was nice. He cared for everyone and he wasn't mean unless you messed with him.

A song that represents Johnny is "im not the only one" by Sam Smith. I chose this song because of the title. I was thinking it could mean like that Johnny is not the only one who's alone. He's not the only one that's hurt. He's not the only one without a family. I chose it because it shows how Jonnny is not the only one and there are other people going through hard times not only him.

Best trip ever !

The trip I recently took was to Tennessee. I went with my mom, my stepmom, my brother, and my two sisters. We left early and got there late. We stayed in a cabin in the smoky mountains. The cabin
was really cool and the view was beautiful. There was also a hot tub in the cabin.

The first day after we got there we did some activities. I went on an alpine coaster which is basically a coaster in the woods. It was really fun because the coaster went really fast and it felt dangerous. We also went to this activity center and me and my brother raced on go karts. It was really fun!

Lastly we went to Dollywood. Dollywood is an amusement park in Pigeon Forge, where we were staying. I went on a lot of roller coasters there and there were so cool. I also forced my brother on the rides because I didn't want to go alone. All in all this trip was really fun and I enjoyed it so much.

Summer blog

This book is about a boy named Jordan Romero who wants to climb all of the seven summits at a very young age. Throughout the book various problems occur with him trying to climb the mountains but at the end he eventually gets to climb all of the seven summits.

The characters in this book act as a team. When I say characters I mean mainly Jordan, his stepmom Karen, and his dad. They treat others with respect as they are nice characters. Also, they feel determined. I say this because they have to climb all of the seven summits throughout the book, and you have to be detirmined to do that.

More about how the characters treat others. When Jordan is in the mountains he looks out for the others. He makes sure they are all still healthy and that they're still able to climb. Also Jordan's dad and Karen treat Jordan nicely because they give him a lot of support to help him continue his mountain climbing journey.

In 10 Years

I want to work at Wendy's when I am a teenager. I want to work there because I want to get money for me and my family. I want to go to college because I want to make my family happy. My mom wants me to have a good education so she will be proud. My dream is to become a chef. I think it would be fun to cook food for people. I would like to also try to be a manager of a restaurant.
